There has been a really luck run for bingo players in Catford recently with lady luck’s first strike going to a seventy-four years young lady from Maidstone, she went home with an extra £50,000 in her pocket after calling bingo on a full-house after forty-one calls.
Another sixty-one year old grandmother at the Mecca Bingo club in Plassy Road, who has opted to remain anonymous, also won a huge £37,000. She has been playing bingo at least once a week for the last ten years and she says that she never expected to win such a huge sum of money, the win put her into a state of shock for a while.
Although she won an amount of £2,000 at the same club a few years ago the huge amount of this bingo win was completely overwhelming for her. The prize money was made up of the National Bingo prize of £34,070, and the house prize of £90, and, this just goes on and on, the Regional prize, because the National Lottery has reverted back to the way the game used to be played, of £3,099. Apparently she was shaking so hard she couldn’t even speak. That is just how I felt last week when my kids made me go on a roller coaster ride!
