Every country in the world at the moment is experiencing huge increases in the price of petrol; this is not something that is limited to any one country. The question is though, how is it going to affect the UK land based bingo industry? They have already suffered a series of knocks, what with double taxation, that the Government refuses point blank to do anything about, and the smoking ban. 

Land based bingo in the UK is still reeling from the impact of these political and economic issues and now we have increased costs in getting to and from bingo clubs, particularly for people who drive cars. But the knock on effect doesn’t stop there, when the petrol price goes up, everything goes up in price.

Some land based bingo clubs have attempted to put on bus routes to encourage bingo players to still play in their clubs, but one can’t help thinking that perhaps more people will turn to the option of playing online bingo from the comfort of their own homes. This is good for the online industry, but might just be the straw that broke the camels back for the land based bingo industry.
