Sheila Stanley, a seventy year old woman from Liverpool is celebrating after her ₤19,000 win at the Mecca Club, Europa Centre in Birkenhead. The National bingo prize that night was for ₤67,880, however Sheila had to share her winnings with three other players. This in itself is unusual, we see winners sharing with another player, but rarely see them having to share with three others. All four players called house in forty five numbers.
Sheila is already planning a cruise in November to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary and she recons that if she enjoys the cruise she might even plan another one for next year using her bingo winnings to pay. She has been playing bingo for twenty five years and was playing on the night of her win with her husband and one of her daughters.
At first she thought she had won only the house prize, but when she realized that she has won the National bingo prize of ₤16,970, Regional prize of ₤1,568 as well as the house prize of ₤413, she was pleasantly surprised. She plays at the Mecca bingo club once a week
She is sharing the prize with her daughter and will be giving some to her other daughter who wasn’t with her on the night. Sheila says that her family is like that, they always share.
